Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) encourages us to stop judging and evaluating ourselves, cast off damaging labels, such as ‘good’ and ‘bad’, and, as its name suggests, help us learn to accept ourselves with kindness and compassion.
CFT was developed for people with a range of difficulties from anxiety and depression to trauma and personality disorders who are prone to self-criticism, self-dislike and strong feelings of shame. CFT is a kind of psychotherapy that helps you to learn how to feel kinder towards yourself and others, and to feel safe and capable in a world that can seem overwhelming
